Congratulations, Wolverines! You made it to the end of the semester. As you wrap up finals, there are many ways to recharge and support friends, classmates, and graduates. Take time to celebrate everything you’ve accomplished—you’ve earned it. Have a wonderful summer, and we’ll be back in the fall with another year of Things to Do!

  • Calling all Star Wars fans! Attend the Maul – Shadow Lord Watch Party to see the latest episode and enjoy free snacks.

Tuesday, April 28

  • Learn to create quick, impressive visuals at a guided Adobe Firefly workshop. 
  • Explore the art exhibition Echoes of the Past and see Detroit’s Greek-American community through the eyes of artist Sam Karres.

Wednesday, April 29

  • Working on job applications? Drop by Resume Lab for real-time, personalized support.
  • Attend the Collaborative Piano Class Recital for an afternoon of musical performance. 
  • Come to Translation Reading & Open Mic to share translations (or any poetry you love), or simply enjoy an outdoor end-of-semester celebration with friends.

Thursday, April 30

  • Explore 170 years of Detroit Observatory history—from groundbreaking research to restoration—at Watcher of the Sky. 
  • Discover the whirlwind caused by Thomas Paine’s Common Sense at the student co-curated exhibition Revolutionary Paine. 

Friday, May 1

  • Take a guided tour of the Clements Library to learn more about its history, programs, and collections. 
  • Join Heartfulness Meditation to unwind after finals. (Happening on Zoom!) 

Saturday, May 2

  • See a free film screening of Kawakeb Masr: 1950s Egyptian Cinema and Stardom, an audiovisual essay on the cultural imagination of 1950s Egypt.
  • Experience the iconic T.Rex come to life through CGI visuals and the latest research at the Museum of Natural History. (Tickets are $8.) 

Sunday, May 3

  • Support graduating BFA dance students and enjoy self-choreographed solo and ensemble works ahead of their upcoming New York City showcase.
